Going for a Ride

We went to the church parking lot to let Tyler show us his new skills. He wasn't too excited about it at first and wanted to ride on the grass, but the church doesn't have much grass and what it does have is on a slope. The parking lot slopes slightly and on Tyler's first ride around the parking lot he still wasn't confident and he found himself on a downgrade...a little yelp came from him.."Oh NOOOO", but he managed to control the bike and make the turn before he hit the curb.
Before the sky got too dark he was riding around the building and all the planters. At one point I caught a mischievious look from him as he headed around the building when he thought no one was watching, I told Ryan and he headed in the opposite direction to meet him, it was somtime before they came back. When they were approaching, Tyler had said he had crashed. Ryan said he was headed out to Hazel, when he hit the curb and Kate told him his Heavenly Father sure loves him and made him crash to save his life. (Hazel is a four lane busy road).

Fishing the Snake River

After the games on Saturday, we headed out to fish the Snake River. Brittany loves her pink fishing vest.

Brett handed over his pole to give Logan instruction in casting on the river.

It was really too late in the day for the fish to be biting, although the "Fishermen" could see the fish hiding on the opposite side.

The water was ice cold...I was surprised how long Britt and Brett were able to stand in the river.
I got close enough to dip my feet in the river when I got warm, but I enjoyed relaxing and reading my Mormon Romance Novel.

Anxious for the Saturday races...

Parent and Child Races - noticed that Britt started off shoving Logan to the side to hopefully gain the upper advantage, notice their side by side stride, finishing together although they both claim to have beat the other.

Harper Family Reunion

Logan and I headed to Idaho for the Harper Family Reunion last Friday, we meet Britt and Brett there for a relaxing weekend among the Sawtooth Mountains.

Playing horsehoes - I was praying for a ringer....Didn't get it on that try, but I got a couple of ringers later on...Oh Yea, and so did Brett, but I got mine first, Yahoo.

Trampoline Heaven

April has been insiting on backyard toys to keep the girls entertained (although they still insist on someone being outside with them) this past week the new addition was the trampoline.

Halli is up to her flips again while Peyton sits on the side line and waits. She does get a moment or two to enjoy the trampoline all to herself.
Yesterday we put the sprinkler underneath the trampoline and it brought the frogs outs.

12 Days Old

My time here is coming to an end, I have mixed emotions - I am sad to be leaving, happy to be going home, not thrilled at the paper work that has been collecting on my desk for three weeks.

I thought I'd post a few picture of Lexie and April - I'm not the greatest, ok, even mildly a good photographer, but I am getting good with photoshop.

This first photo was slightly blurry - a little adjustment to posterized and you wouldn't even know I had to do this to cover up the blur. It's a great composition, couldn't just toss it.

April thought she didn't look happy in this picture - I see a very patient mom, who loves her little family and tries to give them all the love and attention they command.

My 4th of July

My July 4th celebration was quiet and well catered. We spent the day at Williams Manor where their brew of kids and grandkids and friends played in the pool and ate till their hearts content. I was able to lounge on the balcony above it all and read a book and take a few pictures.

A Walk Around the Block

A couple of evenings before April went into Labor, we took a walk around the block, which was just the right pace for April at the time. Of course Halli was off and out of site on her bike, wishing we would go a bit faster.

But then we had to stop to take a look at Peyton's "Hurrrt" I just love the expressions on her face, I was too far away to take a good look so she walked towards me, never taking her finger off of her "Hurrrt". Love those eyes looking at her dad.

Of course, this maneuver really slowed us down. This is what you call inching along, She was so determined to use this as a scooter.

And nothing is more of a complement than when a child imitates her Dad.

Water Balloon Fight

Yesterday was my birthday. April took Halli to the store for birthday cake, while heading to the check out, a purple tube caught Halli's eye, (her new favorite color). April informed her they were water balloons and nothing sounded like more fun than being able to sock it to someone with a water balloon. After dinner, Kevin headed outside to mow the lawn and Halli was anxious for me to open my gift. For her own personal use, you understand. The following pics are her attempt to pounce her dad, always ending up being the one who was pounced, until the end when dad took sympathy on her and let her tag him.

Peyton took two steps off of the patio and launched her balloon - never mind that dad was on the far side of the yard.
Maybe the two of them together can defeat him.
